AMA Atlanta's 2016 AMY Awards
Have you heard of Atlanta’s AMY Awards? It’s a premiere gala the American Marketing Association of Atlanta has hosted for the last 59 years to recognize our city’s best marketers and most successful marketing programs. Guess who had the honor of planning the 2016 event? Me!
The awards are described as a “Night of Fun” and this year was no different. There was a silent auction, digital caricature drawings, delicious food and cocktails, and nearly 300 attendees dressed to impress there to celebrate each other’s accomplishments inside the Fox Theatre’s Egyptian Ballroom.
The planning for such a major event can be pretty stressful, so I made sure to do things for myself that made me excited throughout the process. First, I hired Natt Taylor to design my dress! I loved my initial consultation where she sketched out the design and was amazed when I tried it on for the first time and it was more beautiful than I imagined! What I loved most about it were the color and the pockets! Natt is a true pro because she had to design around my budding baby belly and growing body! She was one of the first people to find out about my pregnancy because I didn’t know how it would affect the final product, but it turned out beautifully!
I also have to shout out my glam team who completed my whole look! Janai Smith of Makeup by Janai gave me a beautiful natural glam with a killer red lip and Dana Green of HairROX pampered me and styled a beautiful up do that made me feel so pretty!
I’d especially like to thank Union Diamond for allowing my husband and I to wear their beautiful jewelry for the night. My hubby rocked a Rolex and I wore a vintage tennis bracelet, custom ruby and diamond encrusted ring and magnificent diamond feathered earrings. We felt so chic!
Lastly, I'm grateful to Tia Young, the Catering Manager at the Georgian Terrace, who provided me with a beautiful suite at a discounted rate the night of the event. I can't tell you how good it felt to walk across the street and rest in such a comfortable room after all was said and done. The delicious breakfast I had the next morning wasn't so bad either :) View my day after video here.
