express myself creatively and six months later, my boyfriend of two years proposed to me! I am looking
forward to sharing my wedding planning experiences and all the tips and insights I learn along my
journey right here on this blog.
My sweetheart, J.R. Hughes and I got engaged on November 5, 2011 in one of our favorite cities,
Savannah, Georgia. I told everyone that I would wait until January 2012 to begin the planning process
so that I could bask in the glory that was our newly engaged love but that lasted all of four days! Before
I knew it, I was busy brainstorming on the vision for our wedding day, collecting beautiful images that
inspired me and entering contests galore.
swimwear and trips around the world. I know, there are skeptics out there who would quickly run down
the odds against winning these types of contests and advise against engaging in such time wasters, but
I’m all for it. You know why? Because it’s fun and it’s a great way to channel the excitement and energy
surrounding you during this special time. Entering contests has sparked fun discussions between me and
my fiancée, inspiring us to dream together and talk about “what ifs” such as what if we win the contest
that pays for an engagement party for 50 guests in our home town, who should we invite? Or, what if
we have the winning mega-millions lottery ticket, what should we buy first?

don’t qualify for or knock yourself out of the running based on a technicality (i.e. Contests may require
your proposal description to be 150 words or less.)
Have fun! Oh and don’t forget to vote for Keshawn and Joseph in the 'Romantic Proposal Category' of
