Several people I know found their dresses at New Natalie’s Bridals so I decided to try my luck there too. The store is large with every imaginable dress style at super-affordable prices. I know a recent bride who got a beautiful satin fit-and-flare dress with bling detailing from Natalie’s for $300, so that got me pumped! We arrived right as the store opened and were introduced to my consultant for the day, Piper. Her sunny personality and positive energy fortified my hope. My mom showed pictures of the dress styles we liked from her cell phone to Piper and with an idea of what we were looking for, she lead us to a room where we all began picking out dresses for me to model.
As we drove away, Team Mom gave me a pep talk and I shook off all residual disappointment. My enthusiasm was renewed when we pulled up to Bridals by Lori of Say Yes the Dress fame. I took pictures of my team in front of the building and they took one of me holding up a bridal magazine full of dog-eared pages that held my wedding dress inspirations. When we walked into the lovely salon, I said aloud that the television show does it no justice because it looks so much better in person, very modern and classy. There are poster sized pictures of Monte and Lori everywhere and when I saw several other consultants from the show I had to hold in my giggles as I was amused that I had just seen them on my TV screen the day before.
After all, I did have an emotional reaction, but not one overflowing with tears like I see time and time again on TV. When I’m happy and feeling my best, I don’t cry, I dance! I can’t help it! That’s what the silk organza dream brought out of me. Out of more than 50 dresses I tried on, it was the only one that made me dance and I can’t wait to do just that on our wedding day.
